The workshop focused on sharing skill ecosystem demonstration project experiences in implementing their strategies. As well as two or more representatives from the five state and territory projects, several NSW DET staff attended the meeting to learn more about the skill ecosystem approach.
Caroline Alcorso, NSW DET, presented an opening piece reflecting on the growing popularity of the skill ecosystem concept and its applicability in a range of contexts. This can be downloaded here. Strategic change consultant John Mitchell led a session of 'think pieces' that helped participants focus on project management and sustainability strategies.
Kim Windsor, consultant to the skill ecosystem project, discussed and sought feedback on her evaluation findings and recommendations to date. When the evaluation research is complete, the report will be circulated for wider input.
Despite the steamy Sydney weather, all participants reported that they greatly enjoyed sharing project experiences and learning from each others' projects. NSW DET also appreciated the effort and energy participants put in to making the day a success.
